A
member of the new Safran group (Snecma and
Sagem), Aircelle is the European leader
in the field of aircraft nacelles. The Le
Havre plant, with its 1,200 employees, produces
jet engine nacelles and thrust reversers
for commercial aviation.
The
company has developed a complementary service
for maintaining and repairing its products
in Pont Authou: Aircelle Europe Services.
Thanks
to its dynamism and technology, the European
leader gained the market for the A380 nacelles
and, in 2003, it delivered the first nacelle
of the future Airbus jumbo jet.
Its nacelles are also used on the Airbus
A340-500/600 and A318 airliners, the Embraer
ERJ and Sukhoï RRJ regional jets and
the Dassault Falcon 7X business aircraft.

Fruit
of a close collaboration between Aircelle
and the University of Le Havre, involving
the sharing of human resources and equipment,
the Groupement d’Intérêt
Scientifique et Technologique (Technological
and Scientific Interest Group) participates
in the implementation and valorization of
research and training potentials in the
Le Havre region.
Among
other departments, the University of Le
Havre proposes a Design and Characterization
of Composite Material Structures sector,
which ensures training and research in an
essential field for the aeronautics industry. |
